In Nana Matsumoto’s world, young women have amazing powers. There are girls who fly, girls with mind powers, and girls with abilities unique to their personalities. There are even Magical Girls, who are rare individuals that have all three. But there are also Duds, who are girls with little or no powers at all. Eighteen-year-old Nana is a Dud with no purpose in life who barely passed high school, and she’s struggling to get into college. Out of desperation, she lies about being a Magical Girl in order to get into her dream school. Now she has to keep up the lie and convince everyone that she has powers to avoid being sent back home and possibly going to prison. Nana genuinely wants to help others and resolves to do the best she can with what she’s been given, even if it means everyone else sees her as The Worst Magical Girl Ever.

CONTENT WARNING: This story is intended for mature readers who can handle heavy topics only. It explores topics that may be inappropriate for minors or triggering to sensitive readers, including:

(highlight to view list within the brackets- spoiler warning!)

[Suicide, self-harm including cutting, sexual abuse including child sexual abuse, racism, homophobia/ transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, harmful use of alcohol, depiction of an abusive religious group, sexual relationships with an unhealthy age gap, and violence.

This story does not condone or romanticize these topics, though. I do my best to depict these issues respectfully and in a way that clearly shows they are wrong.

The main character of this story is an adult after the first chapter, and she does adult things within the story. There are mild references to sex, pornography, and self-pleasure. This story is also planned to have detailed sex scenes, but those chapters will be put behind an age verification wall with a "clean" version posted to the main site.

Readers and their caregivers should use their own discretion to decide whether this is an appropriate read for them.
